Job description
Our client, a well-established manufacturing company specializing in custom metal products, is looking for an Inventory & Material Planner to join their team in Orillia, Ontario. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with systems, data, and cross-functional teams to keep operations running smoothly and efficiently. Position: Inventory & Material Planner
Location: Orillia, ON
Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $65,000–$75,000 (based on experience)
Schedule: Monday–Friday What You’ll Do
  • Manage and maintain the company’s ERP system to support accurate inventory, production, and purchasing processes.
  • Set up and update Bills of Materials (BOMs), part numbers, and work orders to ensure alignment between design and production.
  • Work closely with Engineering, Production, Purchasing, and Finance teams to improve workflows and system functionality.
  • Customize reports, dashboards, and system processes to support day-to-day operations and decision-making.
  • Troubleshoot ERP issues, implement updates, and recommend system improvements.
  • Monitor inventory data and production planning to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
  • Train internal users on system processes and provide ongoing support as needed.
  • Maintain clear documentation of system configurations, updates, and procedures.
  • Identify opportunities to improve data accuracy, streamline processes, and enhance reporting capabilities.
What We’re Looking For
  • Post-secondary education in IT, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience working with ERP systems in a manufacturing setting.
  • Strong understanding of inventory control, material planning, and production processes.
  • Experience with BOM management, work orders, and scheduling.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing environments such as metal fabrication or custom assembly is an asset.
  • Ability to analyze processes and implement practical, data-driven improvements.
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on data accuracy and system integrity.
  • Comfortable working with multiple teams and translating technical information into clear, simple terms.
  • Experience with system integrations (ERP, CAD, or similar) is considered an asset.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand or sit for extended periods.
