The Opportunity
THIS POSITION REQUIRES 40% GLOBAL TRAVEL
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Machine Assembler / Service Technician to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for a hands-on individual who enjoys building, troubleshooting, and improving industrial machinery in a dynamic manufacturing environment.
The ideal candidate will bring experience in machine assembly, tool & die, millwright work, welding, and industrial equipment servicing. This role offers a mix of in-house machine building and field service work, including the opportunity to travel to customer sites for installations, commissioning, and technical support.
We are looking for someone who takes pride in their workmanship, works well independently, and thrives on solving mechanical challenges. If you are a self-starter with strong mechanical aptitude, a positive attitude, and a willingness to learn and grow, we want to hear from you.
Responsibilities
  • Assemble industrial machinery and mechanical systems according to engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Perform fitting, alignment, adjustment, and troubleshooting of machine components.
  • Read and interpret mechanical drawings, hydraulic and pneumatic schematics, and assembly instructions.
  • Install, test, and commission equipment both in-house and at customer facilities.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and basic electrical issues.
  • Perform welding and fabrication work when required for machine assembly or repair.
  • Work closely with engineering and manufacturing teams to improve machine performance and assembly efficiency.
  • Ensure machines meet quality and operational standards before shipment.
  • Perform machine maintenance, upgrades, and field service support.
  • Travel to customer locations for installations, troubleshooting, training, and service calls.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Complete service reports and documentation accurately and professionally.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in machine assembly, tool & die, millwright, welding, or industrial machinery manufacturing.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Welding and fabrication experience required.
  • Experience working with precision components and industrial equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
  • Knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, and basic electrical systems.
  • Experience with machining equipment and fitting techniques is considered an asset.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
  • Positive attitude, motivated, and dependable.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Willingness and ability to travel internationally when required.
  • Tool & Die Maker or Industrial Millwright certification is considered an asset.
  • Experience with PLC or automated equipment is considered an asset.
  • Plastic extrusion machinery experience considered an asset.
