Job description

Our client, a leading organization in the industry sector, is seeking a dedicated Accounts Payable Specialist to join their team. As an Accounts Payable Specialist, you will be an integral part of the Finance Department supporting the Accounts Payable team. The ideal candidate will demonstrate attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and a proactive approach, which will align successfully within the organization.

Job Title: Accounts Payable Specialist

Location: Cambridge, ON (On-site)

Pay Range: $23/hr

Shift: 8 am to 4:30 pm

What's the Job?

  • Receive and process vendor invoices and backup documents via email, fax, or mail.
  • Scan physical documents and save them to appropriate folders for record-keeping.
  • Index scanned images according to specific criteria to maintain organized records.
  • Conduct cheque runs by determining items to be paid, printing registers, and auditing for errors.
  • Create new vendor profiles and process vendor invoices efficiently.

What's Needed?

  • Post-secondary education or equivalent experience.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with accounting processes is an asset.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks accurately and efficiently.
  • Experience with Great Plains accounting software and Synergize is an asset
