Job description
Adecco is currently hiring a temporary full-time Batch Maker to work midnight shift for our client, a leading provider of products that improve the livability and sustainability of all types of buildings. located in Scarborough, ON. The responsibilities of a batch maker involve using equipment to mix chemicals according to specifications. This role requires you to be mathematically skilled to operate in volumetric and mass calculations. Forklift certification and experience is an asset for this position.   • Pay rate: $19.77/hour (+ 1.15 sift premium)
  • Location: Scarborough, ON
  • Shifts: Midnights | 11:00pm - 7:00am | Sunday - Thursday

Responsibilities:
  • Work safely and follow all applicable health and safety policies and procedures. Ensure your work area is clean & safe.
  • Controls one or more processing units or inter-related semi-automatic or automatic systems
  • Monitors gauges, signal records and observes colour changes in product to ascertain reaction rates
  • Performs chemical or other physical testing during product processing
  • Records data on batch cards
  • Follow QC procedures
  • Troubleshooting and routine maintenance of process equipment
  • Bulk loading and unloading
  • Inventory control of raw materials
  • Any other duties assigned by lead hand and/or management
Qualifications:
  • Mu st be legally eligible to work, and reside in Canada
  • Minimum Grade 12 education or equivalent
  • Mathematically skilled to operate in volumetric and mass calculations
  • Knowledge of Spill clean-up and WHMIS/GIS procedures
  • Some experience using hazardous, flammable and explosive materials.
  • Knowledge on how to use/follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Prior forklift experience/license is a plus
  • Flexibility to work overtime, evenings or nights.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Effective written and oral communication skills
  • Capable of following Batch Cards, Work Orders, Environmental, Health & Safety Policies/Procedures and Quality Procedures.
  • Capable of lifting 50lbs.
