Lead Mechanic - Clean Harbors (Westlake, LA)

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure health and safety by complying with all safe work practices.
  • Perform preventative maintenance tasks and inspections on vehicles and equipment.
  • Perform routine maintenance (oil changes, battery checks, lubrication).
  • Assist drivers with vehicle issues.
  • Record time, parts, and inspection checklists accurately.
  • Move company equipment safely.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair equipment and vehicles.
  • Disassemble, inspect, and replace worn or broken parts.
  • Diagnose and repair various systems (engines, transmissions, brakes, etc.).
  • Operate gauges, forklifts, shunt trucks, torches, grinders, and other tools safely.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 2-3 years experience working on heavy-duty trucks and equipment required.
  • Comfortable working on computers required.
  • Must provide own basic tools.
  • Related mechanical certifications a plus.
  • Valid drivers license required.
