Mobile App Developer

Description

We are hiring a Mobile App - Software Developer out of our Edmonton, Canada location. Remote or hybrid.

In this role, you will be engaged in all phases of the software development lifecycle, including gathering and analyzing user/business system requirements, responding to outages, and creating application features. Participate in design meetings and consult with clients to refine, test and debug programs to meet business needs in the achievement of business and technology initiatives. Use AI tools and techniques to accelerate software development, leveraging AI for testing and validation to maintain high quality.

Key Responsibilities

• Be part of a team of 2-5 engineers working to build our augmented reality mobile applications for customers across the aviation and aerospace manufacturing industry
• Utilize cutting-edge AI tools and techniques to accelerate software development
• Consult with team members and customers to ensure project success, including:
  • Collaborating on the design and development of the software product
  • Understanding requirements
  • Estimating your work timeline to manage your deliverables
• Employ Agile/Test Driven Development (TDD) best practices:
  • Work with the Tech Lead to break down your assigned user stories into tasks
  • Write and test user stories
  • Write code to implement requirements in a TDD process
  • Refactor code to improve quality
  • Track your work in JIRA or other task management software
• Write and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable code
• Ensure the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of the applications
• Identify bottlenecks and bugs, and devise solutions to these problems
• Understand and adhere to all requirements of the Quality Management System and the Information Security Management System.
• Other duties as assigned

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

Education/Experience

• 4-6 years of experience in developing mobile and/or Unity-based applications
• Experience using AI as a central tool in the development process
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field

Computer Skills

• Solid understanding of object-oriented programming
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Familiar with various design and architectural patterns
• Understanding of AI capabilities and limitations
• You have experience in several of the below technologies,
  • Unity
  • Mixed reality headsets
  • Mobile development for IOS, Android, Windows
  • C#, TypeScript, Objective-C
• Proficient understanding of code versioning tools & continuous integration
• Good understanding of Agile process

Miscellaneous

• Knowledge of 3D modeling and graphics would be an asset
• You must be a good communicator and speak and write fluently in English
