Chief of Staff About the Company Progressive government agency Industry Government Administration Type Government Agency Employees 51-200 About the Role The Company is in search of a Chief of Staff with a strategic and government-savvy background, particularly in HR, to serve as a key leader and advisor. The successful candidate will be responsible for bridging political leadership, administration, and the workforce, and will play a pivotal role in strategic planning, reporting, and updating. This includes providing support on governance matters, stakeholder relations, and emerging municipal issues. The Chief of Staff will also be tasked with strengthening relationships with various community and regional stakeholders, supporting the advancement of the organization's strategic priorities, and ensuring alignment with Council direction and administrative priorities. Applicants for the Chief of Staff position at the company should have a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline, with a Master’s degree considered an asset, and a professional HR designation is also an asset. The role requires proven experience in senior leadership, executive advisory, or similar roles, preferably in municipal or public sector organizations, and a strong understanding of municipal governance structures. Key competencies include strategic thinking, political acumen, high emotional intelligence, and exceptional organizational and problem-solving abilities. The Chief of Staff will also be responsible for the organization's human resources function, including workforce planning, recruitment, and policy development, and must ensure adherence to relevant legislation and promote a collaborative, professional organizational culture.
