Job description

We are a small, established HR consulting and Talent Acquisition firm supporting clients across Southwestern Ontario. Our team values precision, accountability, and strong collaboration.

Position Overview:
We’re seeking an experienced Part-Time Bookkeeper with advanced proficiency in Sage 50 to take ownership of our day-to-day financial operations. This role will work closely with our external accountant and gradually assume responsibilities currently managed at the accounting level.

This is not an entry-level role—we’re looking for someone confident, independent, and highly detail-oriented who can step in and add immediate value.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform full-cycle bookkeeping using Sage 50
  • Reconcile bank and credit card accounts
  • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable
  • Prepare and issue client invoices; oversee collections
  • Process bi-weekly payroll for approximately 12 employees
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records
  • Generate monthly financial reports
  • Collaborate directly with our accountant and support year-end processes
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and financial workflows

Qualifications:

  • Advanced, hands-on experience with Sage 50 (required)
  • Proven experience managing full-cycle bookkeeping independently
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and best practices
  • Experience with payroll processing
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with external partners

Nice to Have:

  • Experience working with small professional services firms
  • Familiarity with Canadian payroll and compliance requirements

Compensation:

  • 25.00-35.00/hour - based on experience
