Job description

Our client is seeking a talented Controller to take full ownership of accounting and financial reporting within a dynamic multi-location operation. This high-visibility role partners with senior leadership, executives, and operational teams to provide actionable financial insight and ensure strong reporting integrity. This role will require monthly travel to northern Ontario.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, review, and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements with variance analysis

  • Maintain and oversee general and subsidiary ledgers

  • Manage budgeting, forecasting, and planning processes

  • Prepare year-end working papers and support external audits

  • Ensure accurate data processing and reporting within ERP systems

  • Complete regulatory filings and tax returns, including T5 and T5018

  • Provide financial guidance in operational and leadership meetings

  • Implement and maintain financial controls and processes

  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team to deliver timely, accurate results

Qualifications:

  • University degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or related field

  • CPA designation required

  • 7–10+ years of progressive accounting experience

  • Valid Ontario G Driver’s Licence

  • Experience in multi-location operations and ERP systems (Oracle an asset)

  • Advanced Excel skills

  • Proven leadership and team development experience

  • Project-based accounting experience is a plus, but not required
