The Opportunity
We are hiring an Assistant Controller to lead day-to-day accounting operations, financial reporting, and internal controls. This is a hands-on leadership role that works closely with project teams and senior leadership to ensure timely, accurate financial information and strong financial governance.
Compensation
$85,000 - $95,000 base salary (CAD), plus benefits and a performance-based bonus opportunity.
- Lead monthly close, financial statements (ASPE), and variance analysis (WIP / project reporting where applicable)
- Oversee AP / AR, payroll coordination, bank reconciliations, and general ledger integrity
- Maintain and strengthen internal controls, policies, and financial procedures
- Support annual audit / review engagement and liaison with external accountants
- Lead the annual budget preparation and forecasting
- Ensure tax filings and remittances are completed accurately and on time (HST, PST, Corporate Income Tax, etc.)
- Coach and develop the accounting team; set clear expectations and accountability
- Partner with operations / project leadership on forecasting, cost controls, and financial discipline
- Support systems improvement (ERP / accounting tools, reporting automation, process standardization)
