Job Description

Join a dynamic team at a custom manufacturing facility specializing in industrial packaging. As an assembler, you will play a crucial role in creating custom crates and packaging solutions. You will work with the engineering team to bring custom designs to life and ensure the safe transportation of products.

Responsibilities

• Assemble 10-foot-long, 4-feet-wide, and deep crates for special projects.
• Build components such as bases, lids, ends, and shelves using nail guns.
• Install hinges and other hardware with impact drivers and screws.
• Assemble crate walls to completion.
• Possibly assist with cutting lumber to size using table saws.
• Use a tape measure accurately.

Essential Skills

• Experience with assembly and using hand and power tools.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Experience in manufacturing or construction settings.
• Basic understanding of shop drawings, blueprints, and carpentry.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience working with wood, including basic carpentry, construction, and crating.
• Familiarity with reading blueprints.

Work Environment

Work in a bright, clean, and non-unionized manufacturing shop that values team culture. The facility hosts 18 assemblers with engineering and sales on-site, providing a collaborative atmosphere. Participate in frequent company events, such as BBQs, and enjoy a relaxed work environment. The shop operates Monday to Friday from 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM, with the potential for overtime on Saturdays. Alternatively, work afternoon shifts from 3:30 PM to 2:00 AM, Monday to Thursday.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Mississauga, ON.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.50 - $20.25/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
