We are currently recruiting a temporary Registered Early Childhood Educator to join our Team in Markham at the following location(s) : David Suzuki PS. This is a temporary position for an approximate 4-month duration. This position is to fill an existing Range : RECE : $26.07 - $29.79 / hour (includes General Operating Grant) plus Wage Enhancement Grant (up to $2.00 / hr).Position Type & Required Availability : Full-Time Full Day Position (40 hours / week) : Candidates must be available to work a 8-hour shift Monday-Friday to be considered. We offer full-day and before and after school programs summer camps and a forest school. Position Summary : To ensure operational and curriculum requirements are met while applying specialized skills and knowledge related to early childhood education. To deliver a developmentally appropriate inquiry / play based program while ensuring compliance with all internal and external guidelines policies and procedures. Supports the organizations vision mission and guiding values. This is a fully in-centre position. Job Responsibilities : Applies professional knowledge of child development and current legislative expectations to support a program that is consistent with Ministry of Education requirements and in accordance with Upper Canada Child Cares program to the Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice as outlined by the Ontario College of Early childhood team and supervisor apprised of compliance issues or problems related to governing regulation and internal with the children and provides a positive learning experience. Provides a range of care including assisting with meals / snacks toileting diapering dressing in professional development opportunities staff meetings and training sessions as program charts daily logs reports and other administration tasks as guidance to assistant educators students and volunteers as expectations for student teachers from colleges universities secondary schools etc. Completes documentation from Educational Institutions as required. Fosters the engagement of and ongoing communication with parents about the program and their children. Attends parent and community meetings as needed. Uses Storypark for pedagogical documentation as a guide for program development. Effectively collaborates and communicates with other team members school personnel and outside agencies to help support the needs of all children. Identifies children in need of additional support. Guides parents through the process of accessing resources. Helps design and implement individual support plans as and Requirements : Diploma or degree in Early Childhood Education from a recognized college or university.A recent Police Vulnerable Sector least 18 years of age or older due to licensing assessment and up-to-date record of immunization as outlined by -to-date registration with the College of -to-date certification in CPR-C and Standard First Aid (training provided upon selection if required).Experience with inquiry / play based program design and implementation and with the use of pedagogical documentation. Uses initiative; applies sound reason in solving problems and resolves conflict in a calm professional manner. Proven ability to communicate (written and verbal) effectively and establish appropriate relationships with families coworkers and other professionals. Have the physical and emotional stamina to effectively supervise children in a variety of settings including outdoor public spaces. Ability to use computer systems and programs; including Dayforce and Storypark.
