Job Description

The Procurement Director is responsible for defining, managing, and optimizing the company’s procurement strategy for all components, raw materials, and finished products related to camera manufacturing. He or she ensures the availability of critical resources, supplier performance, and control over costs, lead times, and risks, while supporting priorities in production, product development, and international growth.

Procurement :

  • Define and manage the procurement strategy for electronic, optical, and mechanical components, raw materials, and finished products related to camera manufacturing;
  • Select, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to ensure quality, reliability, competitiveness, and continuity of supply;
  • Control the total cost of ownership (TCO) and continuously identify opportunities to improve costs, lead times, and commercial terms;
  • Collaborate with engineering to improve the product development process and identify critical suppliers, components, and supply chain risks early on;
  • Develop strategies for risk mitigation and diversification of supply sources, including alternative sources, sourcing regions, and European partners;
  • Lead procurement strategies with European suppliers and partners to support international growth, secure supply capabilities, and optimize costs, lead times, and associated risks;
  • Oversee the management of orders, inventory, and purchase forecasts related to production, finished goods, and non-product-related needs;
  • Monitor supplier markets, including prices, innovation, availability, allocation risks, and market trends.

Management and Continuous Improvement:

  • Lead, motivate, and develop a multidisciplinary team by ensuring clear prioritization of objectives, effective allocation of responsibilities, and rigorous performance monitoring;
  • Structure work methods, processes, and performance metrics to improve operational efficiency, quality of execution, and visibility into procurement priorities;
  • Implement a continuous improvement approach focused on cost reduction, lead time optimization, process simplification, tool digitization, and standardization of practices;
  • Collaborate with internal teams—including engineering, operations, finance, quality, sales, and logistics—to ensure alignment of priorities and the rapid resolution of cross-functional issues;
  • Actively participate in the company’s strategic projects, including new product launches, expansion into new markets, cost-reduction initiatives, quality certifications, and the evolution of ERP/MRP systems;
  • Promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, operational rigor, and continuous improvement within the team and among internal partners.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in logistics, business administration, operations management, industrial engineering, or any other relevant field;
  • Experience: 7 to 10 years of relevant experience in procurement, operations planning, supplier management, supply chain, or a related field, ideally in a manufacturing or technology environment;
  • Tools: Proficiency in Excel, ERP/MRP systems, and tracking, analysis, and planning tools related to procurement operations.
  • Key Skills:
  • Solid understanding of electronic, optical, and mechanical components, as well as global supply chains;
  • Excellent skills in negotiation, supplier management, cost analysis, and total cost of ownership optimization;
  • Ability to manage procurement risks, allocation issues, obsolescence, critical deadlines, and business continuity;
  • Strong command of planning, forecasting, inventory management, S&OP, and ERP/MRP integration processes;
  • Cross-functional leadership and the ability to collaborate effectively with engineering, operations, quality, finance, sales, and logistics teams;
  • Fluency in English is required for interactions with international suppliers and partners.

Personal Qualities:

  • Inspiring leadership, a sense of responsibility, and the ability to build a high-performing team;
  • Analytical mindset, attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize in a complex environment;
  • Responsiveness, sound business judgment, and the ability to effectively manage unforeseen events, emergencies, and ambiguous situations;
  • Results-oriented, focused on internal customer satisfaction, and committed to continuous improvement;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, clear communication, and the ability to positively influence stakeholders.
