We are seeking qualified individuals for the role of Laboratory Technician. Please note that this is not a fly-in, fly-out operation and will be based in Labrador West, NL.
This position will work a 7-7 shift consisting of 12 hours shift (days and nights).
Job Responsibilities :
- Performs and executes laboratory techniques as per methods independently, following the company’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) to carry out analyses
- Completes laboratory logbook entries, lab reports, and lab records with a high degree of precision, accuracy and attention to detail
- Recording and periodically interpreting results to present to senior colleagues, results are evaluated in a timely manner
- Ensures all lab equipment is properly calibrated, maintained and tested with standards, troubleshooting breakdowns and performing preventive maintenance
- Demonstrates a commitment to testing accuracy, procedural compliance, on-time performance, safety and the environment
- Assists with preparing method SOP’s, validation protocol and reporting
Skills and Qualifications :
- 1-3 years relevant laboratory experience
- Use of geochemistry instrumentation
- Proficient in statistical analysis
- Coordination when handling samples
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to be flexible and responsive to changing demands
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Comfortable with a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent work ethic, and attendance record.
