Reporting to the Manager, Compliance Services, you promote safe and healthy work environments across the province through educating employers and employees on their rights and responsibilities.

ResponsibilitiesYour key areas of responsibility : · Promote safe and healthy workplaces across the province through conducting workplace inspections and enforcing the New Brunswick Occupational Health &

Safety (OHS) Act and its Regulations.· Required to be on call, and first on scene, to investigate incidents, complaints, and work refusals.

middot; Provide expertise, consultation and assistance to clients, Prevention Team, other members of WorkSafeNB as well as internal and external technical committees.

University degree, or post-secondary diploma, in a relevant discipline.· Must have three years of relevant work experience in a technical speciality including experience with health and safety related work.

middot; Ability to demonstrate a sound knowledge of health and safety issues and principles.· CRSP (Canadian Registered Safety Professional) or CHSC (Certified Health and Safety Consultant) certification is considered an asset.

middot; Experience in building construction would be considered an asset.An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

You will be required to have a valid driver license and required to use your own vehicle. Travel expenses are reimbursed as per our expense directive.

WorkSafeNB's mandate is to : Promote the creation of a workplace safety culture in which all employees and employers view all occupational diseases and accidents as being preventable.

Promote an understanding, acceptance, and compliance with all legislation for which WorkSafeNB is responsible, including the enforcement of the OHS Act and regulations.

Provide timely compensation benefits, medical aid, rehabilitation, and safe return-to-work services to injured workers.Provide sustainable insurance and insurance-related services to the employer community.

Represent stakeholders and provide recommendations and advice to government with respect to legislation, and publish such reports, studies, and recommendations WorkSafeNB considers advisable.

Assessments are affected by the level of activities in the province's workplaces, as are the resulting claims. There are also substantial assets that ensure WorkSafeNB will be able to provide the ongoing benefits promised to injured workers through a wage loss recovery insurance system.

These funds are invested in the financial markets and investment returns are subject to the ups and downs of the marketplace.
