Your Opportunity :
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) works as a member of a health care team, collaborating on the delivery of care to meet the needs of patients / clients.
The LPN assesses, plans, implements and evaluates care of patients / clients and work in consultation with RN and NP colleagues and others to meet the needs of more complex patients / clients.
The LPN is responsible and accountable to the public for his / her practice, according to the Standards defined by the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA) Standards of Practice (2003).
Please note, this position is for Nanton Silver Willow Supportive Living. Located 70 km south of Calgary city limits.
Description :
As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you are part of an interprofessional health care team utilizing nursing processes, critical thinking, problem solving and decision making skills.
You will be guided by your education, experience, demonstrated skill level and AHS policies and procedures. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.
Required Qualifications :
Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA).
Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications :
Ability to work as a member of a team and to request and accept direction as required.Demonstrates critical thinking skills, with in scope of practice, including clinical judgment, problem solving skills and strong decision making ability.
Dementia experience is required.
Preferred Qualifications :
Previous experience is an asset. Geriatric experience.Supportive living and / or continuing care experience is an asset.
Supportive pathways an asset.Palliative experience is an asset.
