We are looking for a seasoned data governance professional with investments domain experience to join our Capital Markets Finance team.
The Director will be responsible for managing and leading the Capital Markets’ Data Governance Program implementation and roadmap for a critical data transformation program.
This role reports into VP, Finance Data, Capital Markets Finance, and will consult and work with a variety of stakeholders and groups in OMERS including the Capital Markets Data Governance Committee (DGC), Investment teams, Product teams, and the Enterprise Data Governance team.

In this role, you will be responsible for :
Leading the roll-out a Capital Markets data governance framework, with a focus on improvements on Capital Markets investment and holdings data throughout the trade lifecycle.
Lead the data governance foundations for program daybreak working with the platform team on business requirements to support the data needs
Implement organizational policies and standards within Capital Markets, design and implement principles, governance metrics, processes, related tools, and data architecture to support the management of data.
Define data domains to support the capture and management of Capital Markets data and collaborate with the various stakeholders to ensure the data domains are reflective of their business.
Develop consistent set of business processes to manage mastered and golden data sets for capital market and finance.
Working with data platform teams to ensure data requirements are provided to support data quality and Master Data Management (MDM) requirements.
Working with the Data Governance Committee members to define roles of data owners, stewards, and custodians; work with the business to explain these roles;
identify and document data assets in scope of the program.
Contributing to assessing and maturing strategic data governance priorities.
Establishing data driven culture to support data governance with capital markets.
Qualifications :
At least 9 years of relevant work experience with data governance strategy and program delivery within Capital Markets
Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in a related field such as Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Accounting, Finance and Information Management.
Working experience in Capital Markets and good knowledge of the different investment and asset classes.
Minimum of 2 years of experience leading a team.
Demonstrated consulting and leadership skills, with change management concepts and strategies, including strong communication, presentation, and collaboration skills.
Built and led high performing teams to drive results for the business to implement core components of a data strategy.
Knowledge of leading a data team and working with technology delivery teams.
Working in agile and SDLC delivery methodologies.
Experience establishing data governance policies, standards guidelines.
Some technical knowledge of data governance and data management is needed.
Certifications in Investments or Finance is a nice to have.

Experience working and communicating with executives VP+
Strategy development, strategic thinking, strategic roadmap, and planning.
Knowledge of data architecture and technology solutions.
