The incumbent will join the Financial reporting group in the company that comprises of Staff Accountants and Senior Accountants.
This group is responsible for performing general accounting, reconciliations, and analysis activities involved in the preparation of financial statements.
Each member of the group is responsible for selected sections of financial statements and provides assistance with process documentation and implementation of projects as required.
The individuals work closely with business groups to provide timely and insightful analysis of the units' financial performance.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
Must be able to perform, but not limited to the following duties and responsibilities :
- Prepare monthly financial statements and analysis. This includes comparison to budget and trend analysis.
- Provide technical support to various business heads and senior finance leaders to provide accurate, timely and insightful analysis.
- Assist with operational accounting process improvement projects, including but not limited to process documentation, with a focus on key internal controls.
- Maintain capital asset register, inventory register, fuel register, payroll register, aircraft lease summary and other reports to suit business needs.
- Identify and research unusual items in the financial and statistical information.
- Analyze complex business transactions and assist with presenting those on Financial statements in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (ASPE).
- Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliation.
- Generate Charter Services' invoices on a biweekly / monthly basis specific to customer accounts and participate in ensuring a smooth transition of overall invoicing process to Accounts Receivable group.
- Monitor compliance and reporting under Direct and Indirect tax laws, keep up-to-date with the frequent changes to tax regulations.
- Submit reports to Financial Institutions.
- Co-ordinate with auditors during year-end and assist with audits.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS :
Include, but not limited to, the following minimum skills and qualifications :
- Post Secondary Education (4 years)
- Five (5) years of previous experience
- Has or working toward Professional Accounting Designation (CPA).
- Practical experience in preparing journal entries, balance sheet reconciliation and variance analysis.
- Advanced Excel (e.g. pivot tables, filters, lookup, etc.) is required.
- Experience with accounting and reporting software packages.
- Familiar with current MS Office tools.
- Demonstrated ability to independently research, identify problems and recommend process improvements.
- Experience with Payroll and Accounts Payable functions and accounting.
Possess strong analytical and organizational skills.
- Good interpersonal skills for dealing with people at various levels throughout the organization.
- Adept at managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Ability to communicate in Inuktut a definite asset.
- Ability to obtain and retain an Airport Restricted Area Pass in accordance with the Airport Restricted Area Access Clearance Program regulated by Transport Canada.
