J ob Type: Full-time, Permanent Department: Switchgear Starting Wage: $25.00 /hourly IEM Canada, (Industrial Electric Manufacturing, Inc.) in Surrey, BC, is the largest independent full-line manufacturer of custom electrical distribution and power quality equipment in North America.

What will you be responsible for: Position and connect equipment in preparation for testing.
Complete all required documentation and posts in the appropriate job folder.
Perform other duties which may be required by supervisor.
Observe and assist in testing such as Visual Inspections, Hi-Pot, Ductor, and Continuity under the supervision of a Level 2 or higher qualified person Assist in setup of safety barriers, hazard signs, PPE, and staging for energized testing Identify and explain the use of common testing equipment Demonstrate proper PPE donning sequence and hazard identification Assist in schematic highlighting, documenting non-conformances, and following document control procedures What you need to be part of our team: Attention to Detail: Ensures accuracy and quality in all tasks.
Effective communication: Shares information clearly and professionally.
Technical Proficiency: Applies electrical and electronic knowledge effectively.
Problem Solving: Analyses and resolves technical issues efficiently.
Electrical Fundamentals: Solid understanding of electrical principles and safety.
Diagram Interpretation: Reads and apply electrical schematics accurately.
Wiring & Mechanical Skills: Demonstrates strong wiring abilities and mechanical aptitude.
High School Diploma or GED or higher education Minimum 1 year of control wiring experience.
Physical/Mental/Environment: Physical Demands: Activities: Sitting – 5% Walking/Standing – 95% Lifting: Frequently lift up to 50 lbs.
Bending: Must be able to bend, squat.
Vision: Long periods of close work on small fonts and fine print on drawings and ability to see small or detailed items.
Coordination: frequent ladder use Mental Demands: Interpret, analyze, research and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Environment: Shop/warehouse.
Not climate controlled.
Exposure to excessive heat and cold, wet/humid conditions, noise/vibration, hazards, dust and fumes.
