The CIMA+ offices in Western Canada are in the middle of a large growth trajectory. This means new, exciting complex projects that you will have the ability to shape and be a part of. We are actively looking for people who want to develop their skillsets, take on new challenges, and advance their careers within the organization.

We are seeking a Telecommunications Designer for a hybrid role based in our offices in Vancouver, Kelowna or Calgary.

This role combines drafting and detailed design responsibilities and requires a technically strong designer capable of working independently while supporting field validation and construction coordination activities.

The successful candidate will contribute to outside plant (OSP) network design, site assessments, and the preparation of construction-ready documentation supporting regional infrastructure deployment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop detailed OSP fibre and copper network designs
  • Prepare construction-ready drawings and documentation
  • Perform drafting and design activities in support of network deployments
  • Conduct site visits and field validation to support design accuracy
  • Coordinate with internal planners, designers, and construction teams
  • Review and update as-built documentation as required
  • Copper design experience is an asset

Qualifications

  • 3–7+ years of telecommunications OSP drafting and design experience
  • Experience with fibre network deployments
  • Strong understanding of outside plant design principles
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD or equivalent design software
  • Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
  • Willingness to conduct site visits
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Drivers license and access to a vehicle

Preferred Experience

  • Familiarity with aerial and underground fibre construction practices
  • Experience supporting large-scale network infrastructure projects

Why choose CIMA+? Because we offer you:

  • Comprehensive Group Benefits available from day one for all permanent employees working at least 20 hours per week
  • Employee and Family Assistance Program
  • Retirement Savings Plan (RRSP) with up to 4% employer contribution
  • As an employee-owned company, an annual opportunity to purchase shares for all employees
  • Flexible work schedule in a hybrid work mode
  • Work/Life balance policy across Canada
  • 3-5 weeks of vacation, based on years of relevant experience
  • Tailored training to improve your existing skills
