Job Description
We’re working with a respected public sector organization in Vancouver seeking a Software Developer to lead and support development initiatives that directly impact user-facing tools used by thousands of internal and external stakeholders. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys combining leadership responsibilities with hands-on technical work in a highly collaborative team environment.
Roles and Responsibilities
Lead full-stack development projects from design through to deployment and support
Serve as a senior technical resource for solution architecture, coding standards, and platform optimization
Troubleshoot production issues and mentor junior developers on best practices
Evaluate and recommend automation and AI/ML enhancements to improve business systems
Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to define project scope and deliver technical components
Maintain development pipelines, testing protocols, and version control systems to ensure high-quality releases
Qualifications and Skills
5+ years of hands-on software development experience or equivalent education/experience
Proficiency in several of the following: Java, C#, C++, Python, SQL/Oracle, XML
Strong experience with RPA platform administration
Hands-on exposure to AI/ML, Deep Learning, and LLM (Large Language Models)
Familiarity with ITSM platforms like HPSM or ServiceNow
Agile leadership experience (Scrum Master or technical team lead capacity)
Experience with DevOps practices and tools like Jenkins, GitHub, or SPLUNK
Web service development (REST APIs, message queues, sync/async integrations)
Strong communication, mentorship, and problem-solving skills
