Job description

We’re looking for an Associate Software Technical Analyst to join our Application System Support Team at MBPS. In this role, you will be part of a high‑performing Agile team focused on delivering reliable application support, executing application deployments, gathering business requirements, and performing data analysis. You will help ensure that our solutions align with Manulife standards while enabling seamless integration across our systems and application frameworks. This position requires a strong balance of technical depth and broad systems understanding to effectively design, support, and enhance solutions that drive value across the organization.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with upstream and downstream systems to troubleshoot and resolve data processing issues.
  • Investigate SQL stored procedures, Informatica workflows, CA WLA failures, and Perl scripts to diagnose issues or perform analysis for minor enhancements.
  • Track, manage, and resolve a high volume of daily exceptions as part of operational support activities.
  • Use Agile methodologies and tools such as JIRA to manage work items and enhancements.
  • Coordinate and contribute to development efforts with the development team for major enhancements, following DevOps practices.
  • Oversee and coordinate code deployments with various teams, ensuring compliance with audit and control standards.
  • Stay current with emerging standards, technologies, methodologies, and best practices.
  • Consistently apply continuous improvement principles to enhance processes and overall team efficiency.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, or any related course
  • Minimum 2 years working experience supporting systems at Level 2 (support)
  • Experience with relational database structures and methodologies
  • Ability to manage, prioritize multiple work streams in a time sensitive environment
  • Ability to understand business process requirements and conceptualize innovative, technology‑driven solutions—from design through implementation.
  • Action oriented, creative and proactive thinker
  • Successful candidate must have strong knowledge and experience in the below technologies:MS SQLInformatica PowerCenterPowerBICA Work Load Automation (or any batch automation tool)
  • Amenable to work on a hybrid set-up (3x a week onsite).
  • Amenable to work in a night shift schedule (but flexible depending on business need).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Effective English verbal and written communication skills. Should be able to adapt communication style to suit different audiences
  • Can translate a more complex technical problem into business terms
  • Work well independently as well as in team environment as situation dictates
