Accounting Analyst (3 positions) for provincial government agency client, North York.
Marberg Job Number : 2485.
Job Type : Temporary.
Initial Term : February 1, 2025 to April 30, 2025
Target Compensation : From $30 per hour to $35 per hour, according to experience.
Regular Work Hours : 7.25 hours per day not including 1 hour unpaid lunch break, to be worked during regular business hours, Monday to Friday (36.25 work hours per week). Please note that additional paid hours to be worked on evenings and weekends may be required according to business need.
Work Location : 100% onsite at client's North York office, with free parking provided.
Position Reports To : Manager, Budgeting and Financial Reporting
Responsibilities Summary :
Prepare accurate budgets, collecting and collating line item budget information from various departments and operational districts, as directed.
- Coordinate preparation and distribution of expenditure, commitment, and budget variance analysis reports by function or business cluster, for senior leadership review. Ensure budgets for both field offices and headquarters are accurately tracked and recorded.
- Prepare and record budget data entries, computerized journals, subsidiary ledgers, and accounts receivable subsidiary ledgers, ensuring documents are properly coded for cost analysis and audit.
- Assist with processing accounts for timely payment.
- Assist with processing payroll, and perform daily control of financial information for head office and field staff officers.
- Process financial tickets and handle related inquiries to ensure timely resolution and accurate financial tracking.
- Additional accounting and financial processing, analysis and reporting responsibilities as required.
Qualifications :
Education : Post Secondary Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or equivalent discipline.
Preferred Work Experience : Approximately 3 years of progressive experience in an accounting role.
Preferred Sector Experience : Experience with public sector accounting and budget planning processes an asset.
