Software Engineer in their Markham office!

This company (established in 2001) strives to help senior-level marketing executives manage their marketing investments. Driven to provide a solution that addresses the difficulties of channel management, one-view marketing, and marketing effectiveness, our client developed a “real time” Marketing and Media Management tool that helps major corporations and marketing departments do just that.

Little did they know that they would be so successful in such a short period of time… Beginning life in Toronto, they have now spread across the globe with their corporate headquarters in San Francisco, and offices in Chicago and Delhi, with plans of expansion into Central and South America this year! They currently work with over 700 retail and CPG clients and their team has grown to include 80 top-talent employees with retail, marketing, engineering, and account services expertise. Must-haves :

  • Expert knowledge of JAVA, JSPs, Servlets, JavaScript and EJB 2.0 / 3.0
  • Strong work experience with Struts 2.x
  • Development environment knowledge must include Eclipse.
  • Application server knowledge must include JBoss
  • Database knowledge must include one of the following; MySQL, IBM DB2, Oracle
  • Working knowledge of AJAX, JQuery and JSON
  • Ability to work in a fast paced and dynamic agile environment
  • Good communications skills are mandatory

Assets :

  • Experience with Velocity Template Engine
  • Knowledge of UNIX using Redhat, AIX or Solaris

    • Desired Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s degree (preferably in Engineering or Computer Science)
  • 5 years’ experience of development in J2EE
  • At least 3 years’ experience design and development for large scale business applications

    • If you are a head-down coding guru, this may not be the job for you... Our client wants an individual who will not simply take instructions. You will work with the Enterprise Architect and Applications Architect to contribute ideas and solutions.

    As part of the Engineering team, you will also be required to participate in software architecture and quality assurance aspects of their products.
