Job Description

As an Associate Director, you will lead the Planning and Scheduling service line within our Energy & Natural Resources business. This role involves managing teams and project commissions, working directly with clients to deliver complex projects, and driving business development efforts to expand our market presence.

Key Responsibilities

Service Line Leadership

  • Lead and develop the Planning and Scheduling service line, ensuring best practices and industry standards are met.
  • Mentor, manage, and support planning and scheduling professionals within the team.
  • Oversee resource allocation, performance management, and team growth.
  • Manage commissions, risks and opportunities.

Project Delivery

  • Manage complex integrated schedules, ensuring high-quality delivery.
  • Provide expert scheduling insights and solutions to optimize project delivery.
  • Work closely with clients to understand their needs and provide tailored scheduling solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with project controls, governance, and reporting requirements.


Business Development & Growth

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand our business.
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships to drive repeat business.
  • Represent the company externally at industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to align scheduling services with broader business objectives.

This role offers an opportunity to make a significant impact within our growing business, leading a critical service area while shaping the future of scheduling within the Energy & Natural Resources sector.

Key Accountabilities

  • Define and implement the strategic direction for the Planning and Scheduling service line within the Energy & Natural Resources business.
  • Provide leadership, mentorship, and career development support to scheduling professionals to provide high quality services to our clients.
  • Establish and maintain scheduling best practices, methodologies, and standards.
  • Ensure efficient resource allocation across projects to optimize team utilization.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide continuous feedback to team members.
  • Effectively manage teams and stakeholders to build productive relationships, internally and externally.
  • Review and implement standardized ways of working and collaborate with other project controls leads on developing the service lines.
  • Provide clients with an exceptional and tailored scheduling approach to meet their project needs, including but not limited to; planning, developing, and maintaining Master Schedule, schedule basis, managing the progress measurement and earned value, schedule reporting, QSRA, change implementation, KPI implementation and schedule management plan.
  • Ensure high quality and consistent outputs for all our client commissions.
  • Focus on networking and business development to create new revenue growth.
  • Actively seek out diversification opportunities to grow the service line.
  • Contribute and/or lead bid preparation to win new work
  • Internal operational accountabilities for corporate compliance, and commission and financial management.


Qualifications

  • A minimum of 15 years of experience in planning and scheduling, a minimum of 5 years of experience on leadership roles.
  • Recognized degree in engineering or relevant discipline
  • AACE, PMI, or RICS qualifications is an asset
  • Significant experience in scheduling for large-scale and complex projects and programs, particularly in the energy sector
  • Experience across complex portfolios and programs beneficial
  • Detailed knowledge of scheduling software including Primavera P6 and Acumen Fuse
  • Proven experience and strong leadership capabilities
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills, including leading workshops and presenting content to C-suite
  • Experience in senior level strategic positions
