Your new role

Reporting to the Project Manager, the Structural Engineer will support the successful execution of major construction and infrastructure work. In this role, you will:
  • Work closely with the field team to understand project needs and prepare concept designs for temporary structures.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external engineers to produce detailed technical drawings and schematics.
  • Prepare temporary works designs, including formwork, shoring systems, critical lift plans, and worker access structures.
  • Review subcontractor fabrication drawings and weld procedures before submission to project owners.
  • Conduct material take‑offs and prepare bills of materials.
  • Support quality checks to identify discrepancies or design‑related issues.
  • Provide engineering support through the fabrication of temporary and permanent steel structures.
  • Deliver progress updates to project teams, clients, and management.
  • Maintain productivemunication with client representatives, consultants, and contractors.
  • Ensure all work adheres to project quality standards and regulated QA programs.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned.

What you'll need to succeed

Qualifications
  • Degree or diploma in Civil Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent technical experience.
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng) registration in British Columbia.
  • 10+ years of structural engineering experience, ideally onplex or large‑scale infrastructure projects.
  • Experience with hydro‑related or heavy civil structures is an asset.
  • Working knowledge of occupational safety regulations.

Technical Skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, MS Project, AutoCAD, BlueBeam, and related engineering tools
