Join to apply for the Purchasing Officer role at WorkSafeBC
We're looking for a Purchasing Officer to join our Purchasing Services team. In this role, you'll be responsible for the effective procurement of goods and services of moderate complexity, in accordance with WorkSafeBC policies and legislative requirements.
This is a temporary 18 month position at the Richmond office.
Where you'll work
WorkSafeBC offers a hybrid work model that combines the convenience of working remotely with the dynamism of working in an office, based on the operational needs of the position. In this role, you'll work primarily from your B.C. home and occasionally in our Richmond office.
As a Purchasing Officer You Will
- Provide advice and assistance to internal departments in developing competitive documents, respond to provider requests for clarification, and maintain the confidentiality and integrity of the process.
- Use verbal and written communication skills to interact with internal and external clients.
- Plan, schedule, and coordinate the supply of materials and services for assigned projects.
- Recommend, develop, and implement strategic buying methods to reduce purchasing costs.
We're Looking For Someone Who Can
Your Background and Experience
Completion of Year 1 of the Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP) program or working toward or holding one of the following designations :
