Position: Inbound Logistics Coordinator (Manufacturing) Reports to: Director of Manufacturing WAGE RANGE : $55,900 TO $67,100 We are looking for a Inbound Logistics Coordinator (Manufacturing) to join our Manufacturing team!
The Inbound Logistics Coordinator (Manufacturing) is the single point of accountability for inbound grain receiving performance.
This role ensures trucks are received, sampled, unloaded, and documented within service-level expectations while maintaining continuous communication with third-party carriers.
The position exists to eliminate wait times, prevent cancellations, reduce waste, and protect critical carrier relationships in a high-volume, multi-site manufacturing environment.
OpportunitY We are looking for a team player to help plan, organize, and schedule the arrival of the incoming Grains.
You will be the direct contact for our 3 rd party carrier(s) and will shifts arrivals forward or backwards based on production needs.
You are calm under pressure and will be able to solve problems as they arrive.
You will work closely with the Procurement team, clearly explaining the needs for the balance of the week and next week’s plan.
You will lead by example when it comes to standard operating procedures and safety protocols, ensuring that the delivery of grain is safe and effective.
No shift will be the same, and you will have plenty of opportunities to tackle challenges working in a fast-paced and constantly evolving environment.
You will lead by example, assisting your team members where necessary, which may involve physically demanding tasks, bending, crouching, lifting, and standing for extended periods.

You demonstrate a high level of customer service and initiative to solve problems, being sensible to discern when to act immediately and when to escalate issues to leadership EXPERIENCE You have at least 1-3 years of relevant experience working in a similar capacity, preferably in a food manufacturing environment You are comfortable working at different manufacturing locations throughout the week Detailed Description of Duties: Planning and Coordination: Monitor weekly Grain receiving schedule to shift production needs to Grain arrivals.
Communicate directly and in a timely manner to adjust Carrier delivery times that change versus the delivery schedule.
Grain Receiving: Own the execution of inbound grain receiving across multiple facilities Ensure receivers are prepared, samples are pulled immediately upon arrival, and documentation is completed accurately Verify adherence to SOPs for QC sampling, food safety, and lot traceability Intervene directly when breakdowns, staffing gaps, or equipment failures threaten unloading timelines Ensure receiving continuity during QC or staffing absences through cross-training and escalation Training: Train Grain Receivers on Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOPs), Food Safety documentation, and Safe working Procedures.
Tracking and Reporting: Monitor shipments and track shift/day/week/monthly KPI Reports.
Perform Root Cause Analysis and corrective action for variances.
Problem Resolution: Address issues such as delayed shipments, rejected quality shipments, etc.
with the production team and third party carrier(s).
Provide hands-on support to receiving teams during high-volume or disrupted periods.
Step in to ensure continuity of receiving operations during unplanned absences.
Communication: Work closely with the Internal Procurement team to execute delivery schedule, flag carrier concerns, and work together to improve the process.
Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels, waste levels, and coordinate with Production Manager to achieve the daily/weekly production schedules.
Customer Service: Act as the primary point of contact for Grain deliveries, addressing inquiries and resolving concerns related to deliveries.
Acknowledge truck arrivals immediately and communicate delays proactively.
Manage daily adjustments to delivery schedules based on plant readiness.
Ensure unloads occur within the contracted service window.
Track wait times, escalate risks early, and prevent avoidable fines or cancellations.
Maintain professional, service-oriented communication that reflects ODO’s commitment to carrier partnerships.
Waste Reduction & Process Improvement Identify and eliminate receiving practices that generate unnecessary waste.
Partner with QC and Production to align sampling methods with industry standards.
Track waste attributable to receiving and sampling and drive corrective actions.
Support evaluation and implementation of improved sampling equipment or method.
Other duties as assigned.
