This position provides clerical support to the administrative team at the Island Medical Program in four areas : curriculum, student assessment, IMP Faculty Leaders, and Patient Programs.
The Program Assistant will provide a variety of administrative and secretarial tasks in support of the unit’s efforts and activities including supporting curriculum planning and delivery; preparing and distributing information packages or correspondence for students, faculty, and teaching staff; assisting with student assessment which includes some aspects of invigilation; data entry and file / record management; and drafting correspondence and preparing materials. They will be privy to highly sensitive and confidential student assessment materials and patient medical records and will be expected to maintain discretion and uphold privacy standards.
The incumbent is responsible for maintaining the Clinical Skills facilities at the Royal Jubilee Hospital site, reviewing and maintaining inventory levels and reordering supplies as needed, and ensuring the space is prepared for the sessions, under the direction of the Curriculum Manager.
Some travel between UVic and the Clinical Academic Campuses Royal Jubilee Hospital and Victoria General Hospital will be required to fulfill duties. This position will be required to be part of a roster that covers backup reception and exam invigilation when required.
This position requires a level of education, training, and experience equivalent to 2 years of experience working within a comparable environment.

Specialized Knowledge / Education
