Job description
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Automation and Mechatronics Specialist to join our team in Burnaby, BC. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in PLC and embedded systems integration, programming, and field service installation. If you’re a problem-solver with a passion for automation, apply now.
Pay Rate: $45 – $55 per hour (based on qualifications and experience)
Shift: Full-time position with approved overtime when required

What You’ll Be Doing:
- PLC and Embedded Systems Integration – Programming, HMI creation, assembly, testing, and troubleshooting
- Field Service Installation & Maintenance – Travel as needed to install and repair systems
- Technical Documentation – Prepare manuals, procedures, and service reports
- Project Management & Collaboration – Work closely with project managers, technicians, and regulatory bodies
What You’ll Need to Qualify:
- PLC Programming & HMI Creation (Opto22 or Siemens S7-1200 experience is an asset)
- Mechatronics Technologist / Engineer Certification (or equivalent hands-on experience)
- C, C++, or C# programming familiarity is a plus
- Strong troubleshooting skills and mechanical aptitude
- Ability to use hand tools, multi-meters, and oscilloscopes
- Valid Driver’s License for local travel
- Ability to travel internationally, including to the US
