About the Opportunity
- Oversee and coordinate the end-to-end payroll process on a bi-weekly and / or semi-monthly basis for hourly and salaried employees across multiple provinces.
Act as a subject matter expert for payroll compliance, tax regulations, and provincial employment standards.
Ensure accurate processing of employee payroll changes including new hires, terminations, salary adjustments, benefits, and leaves of absence.
Collaborate with HR, Finance, and Operations teams to ensure seamless data flow and address payroll-related inquiries.
Review and validate payroll inputs and outputs, ensuring accuracy and resolving discrepancies.
Support year-end activities including T4 preparation, ROEs, and reconciliations.
Monitor payroll controls, audits, and process improvements to maintain accuracy and efficiency.
Maintain and update payroll policies, documentation, and internal procedures as needed.
Coordinate with third-party vendors (e.g., Ceridian, ADP, or similar) to manage system issues or updates.
Stay informed of changes in legislation and best practices and make recommendations for continuous improvement.
About You
Minimum 5 years of payroll experience, including 2+ years in a supervisory or lead role.
PCP Certification from the National Payroll Institute (formerly Canadian Payroll Association) is preferred
Strong knowledge of Canadian payroll legislation, particularly in Ontario and other provinces within the GTA.
Experience with payroll systems such as Ceridian Dayforce, ADP, or Ultimate Software.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications.
High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a team-oriented mindset.
Salary Range
32 - $38 an hour
