Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage complex Professional Lines claims, with a primary focus on E&O, from initial intake through resolution
  • Apply working knowledge of CGL and other related lines to support multi-line claims handling and identify overlapping or ancillary exposure
  • Ensure claims are handled in accordance with company claims philosophy, internal protocols, and reserving practices
  • Maintain accurate and thorough file documentation, including timely diary management, reserve updates, and clear coverage position
  • Lead negotiations and support resolution strategies, including litigation management, mediations, and settlement discussions where required
  • Prioritize workloads effectively and manage competing deadlines to ensure timely claim settlement
  • Communicate proactively with brokers, insureds, counsel, TPAs, and internal business partners throughout the life of the claim
  • Manage litigation, mediations, and trials – directing legal counsel
  • Participate in renewal discussions, broker meetings, and client-facing conversation
  • Identify trends, emerging issues, and loss patterns, and report key insights to management

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Minimum 3+ years of claims handling experience, preferably in Professional Liability, E&O, and/or CGL
  • Property claims experience is an asset
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex files independently and make sound coverage and resolution decisions.

Core Competencies:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and decision-making ability
  • Advanced negotiation and decision-making skills
  • Strong relationship management skills with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
