Job description

Adecco is currently hiring a full-time Mechanic / Power Lift Truck Technician to support maintenance operations in a high-volume Distribution Centre and plant environment for our client in Bolton, ON. In this role, you will perform preventive and corrective maintenance on powered lift trucks, mobile material handling equipment, and both electric and internal combustion units.
This position requires strong mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic troubleshooting skills, with a commitment to safety and equipment reliability. If you are a licensed 282E or 310S technician with experience working on lift trucks, reach trucks, or industrial mobile equipment, this is an excellent opportunity to join a fast-paced, safety-focused operation.

  • Pay Rate: $35.00 - $45.00/hour (based on experience)
  • Location: Bolton, ON
  • Schedule: 2 Hours Shifts. 7:00pm- 7:00am, flexible working days (weekdays & weekends).

Responsibilities:
Mobile Equipment Maintenance

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on powered lift trucks (counterbalance, reach, turret, tuggers).
  • Maintain and repair electric, propane, and diesel mobile equipment (including Doosan diesel units).
  • Troubleshoot and repair internal combustion engines, electrical drive systems, controllers, and motors.
  • Maintain and repair hydraulic, braking, steering, and drivetrain systems.
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues using schematics and technician manuals.
  • Respond to equipment breakdowns safely and promptly to minimize downtime.

Work at Heights & Access Equipment

  • Perform repairs at heights above 10 feet on lift truck masts and elevated components.
  • Use approved access equipment, including scissor lifts, boom lifts (Genie), and ladders.
  • Assist, in rare cases, with freeing equipment within racking systems using approved methods and safety controls.

Documentation & Coordination

  • Use OEM documentation, diagrams, and schematics to determine repair procedures.
  • Accurately document work completed, parts used, and findings in the CMMS (Maximo) system.
  • Communicate repair status, safety concerns, and equipment priorities with Maintenance and Operations teams.
  • Support annual mobile equipment inspections and regulatory compliance.

General Responsibilities

  • Work safely at all times following OHSA requirements, company policies, and lockout/tagout procedures.
  • Operate hoisting and lifting devices (cranes, jacks, lift trucks) safely and effectively.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Follow Maintenance Quality Standards and Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Support additional maintenance activities within the technician's trade scope.

Qualifications:

  • Ontario Certificate of Qualification:
    • Powered Lift Truck Technician (282E), or
    • Automotive Service Technician (310S) with relevant industrial equipment experience
  • Experience repairing lift trucks or industrial mobile equipment
  • Strong mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic aptitude
  • Proven commitment to safe work practices
  • Ability to work rotating shifts, including nights and weekends
  • Ability to document work effectively in a CMMS (Maximo preferred)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Experience in a high-volume plant or distribution centre
  • Experience working with AGVs or automated mobile equipment
  • Electrical or electronics background
  • Knowledge of battery technologies and charging systems
  • Experience using scissor lifts or boom lifts
  • Mu st be legally eligible to work, and reside in Canada
