Job Overview

  • The Artificial Intelligence Developer is responsible for designing, developing, deploying, and maintaining advanced artificial intelligence solutions that support enterprise business objectives.
  • This role focuses on building production ready systems that use large language models, predictive models, and document intelligence techniques to enable capabilities such as intelligent search, conversational applications, document understanding, and decision support.
  • Key responsibilities include working with business partners to understand operational needs and translating those needs into technical solutions.
  • The role involves developing data pipelines that process structured and unstructured data such as documents, spreadsheets, images, and text, and preparing this data for use in artificial intelligence applications.
  • The Artificial Intelligence Developer is accountable for ensuring data quality, traceability, and compliance with organizational policies.
  • The role is responsible for the full lifecycle of artificial intelligence solutions, including model development, system integration, deployment into production environments, and ongoing monitoring and maintenance.
  • This work is performed primarily within the Microsoft Azure cloud ecosystem and integrated data and analytics platforms such as Databricks.
  • The role also includes implementing machine learning operations practices to ensure reliable deployment, version control, monitoring, and ongoing improvement of artificial intelligence systems.
  • The Artificial Intelligence Developer designs and implements systems that may include agent based artificial intelligence, where software components are capable of planning, reasoning, and taking actions across multiple steps to achieve defined objectives.
  • These systems are developed with a focus on reliability, safety, and alignment with business intent.
  • The role requires the use of modern software development practices, including collaborative source code management using GitHub, peer code review, and structured change management.
  • The Artificial Intelligence Developer contributes to responsible and ethical use of artificial intelligence by assessing solutions for fairness, reliability, and explainability.
  • The role also requires producing technical documentation, supporting design and architecture reviews, and clearly communicating technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, data science, mathematics, physics, or a related technical discipline.
  • An advanced degree in a related field is considered an asset.
  • Skills and Experience
  • Strong programming skills with experience developing production code using Python.
  • Proven ability to design and implement artificial intelligence systems using large language models and predictive modeling techniques.
  • Experience building data pipelines to process and transform structured and unstructured data for analytical and modeling purposes.
  • Demonstrated experience deploying and operating artificial intelligence solutions within cloud computing environments, Azure is preferred.
  • Experience using enterprise data and analytics platforms, including Databricks, to support data preparation, model development, and scalable processing.
  • Experience applying machine learning operations practices, including model versioning, controlled deployment, performance monitoring, and lifecycle management.
  • Proficiency with collaborative software development tools, including GitHub, for source code management, version control, and peer review.
  • Strong understanding of software engineering best practices, including testing, documentation, and maintainable design.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly in written and verbal form to diverse audiences.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering artificial intelligence solutions from initial concept through production deployment.
  • Professional Designations or Licenses
  • Professional certifications related to cloud computing, data platforms, or artificial intelligence technologies are considered an asset.
