Class Definition Job Details Under the Workforce Development department, the Sessional Professor for Plumbing would be expected to do the following :
- Innovate, develop and deliver courses and labs related to plumbing courses;
- Engage students in the classroom and lab environment, ensuring learner awareness of curriculum and evaluation of learning;
- Provide a learning environment that makes effective use of available resources based on the cooperative learning theory while incorporating a variety of teaching and learning strategies to meet various learning styles;
- Evaluate student progress and achievement;
- Actively contribute to student success;
- Assist, advise, coach and mentor students with course choices, career possibilities and opportunities to continue their education at the advanced degree level;
- Lead, participate in and contribute to special events, consultative committees and program and course curriculum design and revisions;
- Champion the development of customized training and educational programs in collaboration with public and private sector partners; and
- Work in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act.

This position involves up to 36 weeks of assigned contact per academic year and may be in any of three semesters at the College’s discretion and may include weekend work.
