Hi, there. My name is Carla. My husband and I are looking for help with our two kids (12 and 13 years old). Part-time respite who can help with after-school and weekend fun.
Our son is 12 and on the Autism spectrum and semi-verbal. Our daughter is 13 and has ADHD. We will need someone who is enthusiastic, creative, patient, and firm. We are hoping to hire someone who will be comfortable and adaptable to the nuances of Autistic kids. They would need to be willing and able to help with homeschooling (facilitated by a teacher through e-learning), implement behaviour strategies provided by an awesome therapy team.
Our family was in a serious car accident in August of 2019. We all have traumatic Brain Injury and my husband and I are both still managing a lot of medical and therapeutic caregivers. Because of our injuries, we require someone who can be very hands-on and reliable with the children while we manage our household. Therefore, we'd need CPR and First Aid (willing to provide this training for the right person), school pick-up for the children, help w / meal preparation, task-oriented light housekeeping (helping the kids with : staying organized, general tidying, folding kids' laundry, supervising activities clean-up etc.), getting ready for bedtime if needed, occasional accompanying us to appointments or classes.
We have two low-allergen Bengal kittens. They are therapy pets for our family, very fun, sweet, and gentle.
Some nice to haves : Multi / Bilingual
An artistic / musical skill (for example, if you play an instrument we’d be interested in paying additional for lessons)
