Job description

Position Overview

As a Power Saw Operator (Slasher) you will be working closely on a small crew supporting our client in several different locations and terrains. In this role you will be required to travel to various locations in Canada.

The pay rate for this position is $24.19 - $28.48 per hour.

Job Duties

  • Brush cutting using Chainsaw or Brushsaw.
  • Working on steep slopes and uneven ground.
  • Groundwork support for trimming operations.
  • Chipper operation and loading brush.
  • Assist the Foreperson in job- site setup, debris removal, cleanup and equipment maintenance.
  • Abide by Davey and Industry safety policies and procedures.
  • Providing excellent customer service.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience with maintenance and safe power saw operation.
  • Valid provincial driver’s license. Licensed to drive a 5-ton vehicle and air brake endorsement considered an asset.
  • Willingness to work towards becoming a certified arborist.
  • Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs.
  • Valid First Aid certification
  • Enform or Forest Safety Council training preferred.
  • Ability to work safely as part of a team and possess the willingness to learn and progress.
