Job description

Adecco is currently hiring a Warehouse Loader for a full-time opportunity in Mount Pearl, NL. This role is ideal for a reliable and detail-oriented warehouse professional who is comfortable working overnight in a fast-paced distribution environment.
In this position, you will gather pallets from different warehouse chambers, consolidate products according to store and commodity requirements, and ensure outbound orders are accurately staged and loaded for delivery. Your attention to detail will be essential to ensuring each store receives the correct products while maintaining load quality and integrity.

  • Pay Rate: $21.30 per hour
  • Location: Mount Pearl, NL
  • Schedule: 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM
  • Employment Type: Full-Time | Temporary with potential to become permanent

Responsibilities

  • Gather pallets of products from different warehouse chambers and consolidate commodities according to established store and delivery plans.
  • Load pallets onto trailers in the proper sequence and confirm the number of pallets assigned to each customer.
  • Ensure products are consolidated with the correct store and commodity while maintaining product integrity.
  • Follow daily order schedules to determine where outbound freight should be staged and which trailer should be used for each route.
  • Ensure each pallet is loaded onto the correct trailer in descending stop order.
  • Verify that pallets are properly labelled, wrapped, stable, and ready for transportation.
  • Inspect pallet quality and arrange for additional wrapping when required.
  • Record trailer information, including pallet quantities, cube, mileage, and route information.
  • Maintain accurate pallet control sheets, trailer logs, daily order schedules, and preloading inspection records.
  • Complete daily mobile equipment inspections before operating warehouse equipment.
  • Operate pallet jacks, single pallet trucks, and other authorized material handling equipment.
  • Remove empty pallets from trailers and accurately record pallet quantities and types.
  • Stage outbound pallets in designated areas when trailers are not yet ready for loading.
  • Coordinate with the Shipping Clerk regarding shortages, second picks, load information, and completed shipments.
  • Ensure second picks are matched with the correct store and commodity and appropriately identified when they cannot be consolidated.
  • Verify refrigerated trailers are set to the appropriate temperature and precooled before loading.
  • Start trailer refrigeration units following loading and verify that they are operating correctly.
  • Safely operate dock doors and dock levelers during the loading process.
  • Ensure all outbound loads are completed accurately and on schedule.
  • Maintain accurate records in applicable warehouse and shipping systems.
  • Follow established health and safety procedures and standard operating procedures at all times.
  • Support additional warehouse, shipping, and distribution duties as required.

Requirements

  • Must be eligible to work and reside in Canada.
  • Previous warehouse, shipping, loading, order picking, or distribution experience is preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately follow loading and store-specific plans.
  • Ability to organize and consolidate products according to store, commodity, route, and delivery requirements.
  • Comfortable working with pallet jacks and warehouse material handling equipment.
  • Forklift experience is considered an asset.
  • Ability to accurately complete shipping documentation and maintain warehouse records.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with shipping and warehouse team members.
  • Strong commitment to product quality, accuracy, and workplace safety.
  • Ability to work a consistent overnight schedule from 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM.
