Your Job
DarkVision, a Koch Engineered Solutions company, is seeking a QA Manager to lead quality assurance across our hardware, firmware, and software products. You will be responsible for building and running a practical, high-impact QA function that improves product reliability without slowing down innovation.
This role is hands-on and leadership-focused. You will manage and mentor QA staff, define test strategies, and work closely with Engineering, Product, and Customer Support to ensure real-world issues are reproduced, validated, and prevented from recurring. You will champion risk-based testing, smart prioritization, and fast feedback over heavyweight process.
This regular full-time position is on-site in our HQ in North Vancouver, BC, where employees enjoy full access to our facility amenities including a well-equipped gym, squash court, climbing wall, steam room, and more!
Our Team
DarkVision Technologies Inc. is a Canada-based tech company disrupting the industrial imaging market since 2013. We have created the world’s most advanced acoustic-based imaging platform and are rapidly expanding it into multiple product lines.
Backed by Koch Inc., DarkVision combines cutting-edge science with real-world industrial applications. Our teams work on complex, interdisciplinary problems where quality, reliability, and customer trust matter deeply.
We empower employees to take ownership, challenge assumptions, and build solutions that work in the real world.
What You Will Do
- Lead, mentor, and grow the QA team across software, firmware, and system-level testing
- Define and evolve QA strategy focused on risk, impact, and customer outcomes
- Own test planning for releases, balancing coverage with speed and practicality
- Ensure customer-reported issues are reproducible, tracked, validated, resolved, and prevented from regressing
- Collaborate closely with Engineering to integrate testing into CI/CD pipelines
- Drive continuous improvement of test processes without introducing unnecessary bureaucracy
- Provide clear quality signals to leadership around release readiness and risk
- Act as a Quality advocate while remaining pragmatic about trade-offs and timelines
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
- 5+ years of experience in QA leadership or management roles
- Experience in software testing, ideally in complex or real-time systems (e.g. video games, embedded systems, industrial software)
- Experience testing systems involving hardware and low-level software (embedded Linux, firmware, drivers, or similar)
- Experience managing test plans, test cases, and defect tracking in modern tools
What Will Put You Ahead
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to clearly articulate quality risks and trade-offs
- Background in game testing or other fast-paced, high-complexity QA environments
- Experience in front-line technical support or customer-facing engineering roles
- Familiarity with Linux-based systems and debugging at the system level
- Experience implementing and scaling automated testing frameworks and CI/CD
General Salary Range
For this role, we anticipate paying $120,000 to $180,000 per year commensurate to your level of expected contributions. This role is eligible for variable pay, issued as a monetary bonus or in another form.
Additionally, everyone has individual work and personal needs. We seek to enable the best work environment that helps you and the business work together to produce superior results.
How to Apply
If you have the above qualifications, we would like to hear from you. We thank all applicants in advance, but please be advised that only those selected for an interview will be contacted.
We are an equal opportunity employer. If you require accommodation or assistance at any time during the application or selection processes, please submit a request by following the directions located in the FAQ section at the bottom of the kochcareers.com webpage.
