Job description

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all activities related to the hatchery in order to meet business objectives to be accountable for all aspects of hatchery performance and ensures that objectives are attained in a cost-effective manner that’s consistent with quality requirements. They are responsible for planning and implementing best practices and procedures and delegating to staff

PRIORITY:
Manage all hatchery activities directly and implement an effective quality assurance program. Ensure the hatchery follows industry regulations on sanitation, vaccinations, etc. Plan and develop hatch schedules that consider market forecasts and customer orders, supervise employees to ensure all hatchery standards are being met.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
The following list of duties and responsibilities is not intended to be an all-inclusive list of duties rather they are intended to only describe the nature of the job:
· Manage and coordinate hatchery activities
· Oversee quality assurance program
· Monitor facility equipment and repairs
· Oversee hatchery sanitation
· Forecasts manpower requirements, coordinates selection, training and project the ongoing needs of hatchery
· Comply with all Company policies and animal welfare guidelines
· Manage chick care, maintenance, packing and transfer activities
· Manage and maintain weekly hatch schedules
· Direct supervision/management of employees

REQUIRED SKILL, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:
· Excellent Interpersonal Skills
· Demonstrated high leadership qualities in leading a business and team, must have ability to motivate employees to keep operations running smoothly.
· Knowledge of safety systems and processes.
· Ability to identify opportunities and follow through on the execution and improvement
· Excellent Analytical & organizational skills
· Problem-solving must be able to quickly ascertain a situation and be decisive in solving it, such as identifying defects in a production line.
· Time Management, ability to face production deadlines, shipping dates and more, must manage time accordingly

COMPETENCIES AND ATTRIBUTES:
· Strong critical thinking and communication skills to share ideas and influence others, including senior management team.
· Ability to implement new business strategies with leadership skills. Learn how to achieve successful strategic change and innovation.
· Coach supervisors and front-line staff to enhance performance and to develop and retain high-potential employees of the future.
· Evaluate business risk and work with Hatchery Manager and Director of Hatcheries.
· Create a high performing team with clear direction and realistic but challenging goals.
