This is a full-time permanent opportunity with a fun team and great benefits!Your New RoleAs the Health & Safety Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the safety and well-being of all employees across multiple sites in BC. You will oversee the implementation of the comprehensive Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) process, which includes managing environmental compliance, occupational health programs, and safety protocols. Your responsibilities will encompass developing and leading all onboarding and training programs to ensure that all employees are well-versed in the company's health and safety standards.Additionally, you will spearhead various Health & Safety initiatives, driving continuous improvement and fostering a culture of safety throughout the organization. Your expertise will be crucial in identifying potential hazards, conducting risk assessments, and implementing best practices to mitigate risks and ensure a safe working environment for everyone.A key part of your role will be to achieve and maintain the Certificate of Recognition (COR), a nationally recognized certification program in Canada that acknowledges employers who have implemented effective health and safety management systems. Achieving COR certification demonstrates the company's commitment to maintaining a safe and healthy work environment and involves a comprehensive audit of the company's health and safety practices, ensuring they meet or exceed industry standards.What You'll Need to Succeed10 years in Health & Safety roles, with at least 4 years in a managerial capacity for Health and SafetyA Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or a related field is highly preferredAdditional certifications such as CRSP (Canadian Registered Safety Professional) or NEBOSH (National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health) are valuable assetsProven experience in implementing and managing Health & Safety plans in manufacturing or industrial settingsExperience with environmental compliance, including knowledge of federal and provincial regulations (e.g., WorkSafeBC, OSHA, EPA)Strong understanding of risk assessment and mitigation strategiesAbility to develop and implement best practices across multiple sitesFamiliarity with environmental laws and current trends, including air, water, and soil quality, waste management, and environmental assessment processesExcellent leadership skills to drive Health & Safety initiatives and foster a culture of safety within the organizationStrong communication skills to effectively train and onboard employees, ensuring they understand and adhere to safety protocolsAchieving and maintaining the Certificate of Recognition (COR) is crucial.
