Job#: 3027326
Job Description:
Data Migration Specialist - Entry Level (Contract)
Work Location: Remote (Must be based in Canada in BC, AB, MB, or ON)
Contract Length: 3 Month Contract (possible extensions)
Work Authorization: Canadian Residency / Work Permit Required (no sponsorship available)
This role is tailored for early‑career candidates and recent graduates entering the workforce.
ABOUT THE ROLE:
This contract role will provide behind-the-scenes support as we transition customers from one donation form platform to another. You will focus on the technical and operational components of this process, including data imports, configuration assistance, and build validation. While the role is not customer-facing, it is essential to ensuring high‑quality, on-time transitions.
The new fundraising platform is an all‑in‑one solution designed to help nonprofits and charities launch effective digital campaigns without requiring technical expertise. It offers tools for creating branded donation pages, managing supporters, and tracking campaign performance, making it easy to run peer‑to‑peer fundraising, recurring giving programs, and donation appeals.
The current system being transitioned away from is a comprehensive nonprofit and church management solution that has supported tens of thousands of organizations. Its all‑inclusive platform includes a CRM, fundraising and giving tools, online donations and payment processing, built‑in fund accounting, integrated payroll, email marketing, a website builder, and more.
RESPONSIBILITIES / DAY-TO-DAY:
- Support the migration workflow for a portfolio of customers by completing technical tasks required for transition.
- Duplicate and lightly customize existing campaign builds to align with each organization's requirements and branding.
- Prepare and validate data imports, including cleaning, mapping, and confirming outcomes match expected results.
- Perform QA checks and pre-launch validation, including testing key donation flows and edge cases.
- Maintain clear internal documentation for each migration (notes, screenshots, build/config decisions, and handover details).
- Coordinate handoffs with customer-facing coordinators and Support by providing timely updates and clear blockers.
- Identify recurring issues and suggest improvements to playbooks, checklists, and tooling.
BACKGROUND REQUIREMENTS:
Technical Skills (Entry Level):- Basic familiarity with fundraising, CRM, or donation platforms—or other online tools used by nonprofits.
- Comfortable working with spreadsheets (, Excel or CSV files) to organize data, import information, and review results for accuracy.
- General understanding of website builders or page editors, including making simple updates, applying branding, and fixing minor display issues.
- Experience using collaboration and productivity tools like Slack and project management platforms.
- Detail-oriented approach with an interest in testing and reviewing work before it goes live.
Project Coordination Skills:
- Strong task tracking and prioritization skills, with comfort managing multiple concurrent builds.
- Strong documentation habits, including clear notes, screenshots, and handover materials.
- Experience coordinating work across stakeholders (, customer-facing coordinators, Support, and migration specialists).
Soft Skills:
- Solution-oriented problem solving, including troubleshooting independently and escalating with clear context.
- Strong attention to detail, particularly around data accuracy and build validation.
- Adaptability to follow playbooks while handling edge cases.
