The Specialist, Channel Content Development contributes to the overall success of the Client Experience teams across both Virtual and Retail Branch channels by designing and developing learning content that supports the organization’s service, capability building, and experience enhancement strategies. Ensures that all deliverables are created and maintained in alignment with governing regulations, audit protocols, internal policies, and established standards. As Specialist, Channel Content Development, you will be responsible for developing learning content based on established learning frameworks.


Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:

  • Understand and deliver a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge.
  • Accountable for executing change requests for updated and new training content (including, but not limited to version accuracy, request requirements, document review for formatting and language standards, etc.).
  • Develop or advise the overall framework, design, strategy of courses, ensuring alignment with learning needs and service level agreements.
  • Perform all ADDIE Model tasks from start to finish when developing content.
  • Assist with the creation of facilitation decks.
  • Champion usability and accessibility of learning material by utilizing digital creation knowledge to develop accessible digital learning content.
  • Maintain learning programs to ensure up-to-date learning content, friendly usability, troubleshooting technical issues, etc. Provides end-user support and resolves low risk inquiries and concerns. Collaborates with the Learning Delivery team to execute courses and maintain existing learning programs.
  • Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
  • Actively pursue effective and efficient operations of the respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct, and the Global Sales
  • Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk
  • Champion a high-performance environment and contributes to an inclusive work environment.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We'd love to work with you if you have:

  • Post-secondary education in Business, Digital Communications, or Adult Learning is an asset
  • Previous experience as an Instructional Designer or Learning Experience Design role
  • Advanced knowledge of Articulate Storyline, and/or other eLearning software
  • Advanced knowledge of Camtasia and/or Snagit as video editing software
  • Advanced knowledge of developing Accessibility according to AODA standard
  • Previous experience in Learning Management Systems
  • Previous experience in designing and developing digital learning content preferred
  • Web/ HTML Design is an asset

Working Conditions:

  • Work in a standard office-based environment.
  • The incumbent must work under tight deadlines, conflicting priorities and changing project requirements.
  • Must be able to react quickly to resolve problems and work overtime on many occasions to meet project deadlines
