Job description

Position Summary

BCIT’s School of Computing and Academic Studies is seeking a temporary, full-time (1.0 FTE) faculty member. We are seeking highly talented, motivated and qualified professionals ready for the next level and next challenge in their careers to be Instructors at our Downtown campus. The position is to teach in the Computer Information Technology (CIT) program. Candidates must have strong communication skills and will be required to assume responsibilities for curriculum development and academic leadership. Having teaching or mentoring experience is a prerequisite for this position. Duties & Responsibilities COMPUTER INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY DIPLOMA

The CIT program is a full-time, on-campus, two-year diploma within BCIT’s Department of Computing. This program prepares students for work across all areas of information technology with a focus on modern operations, including DevOps. Applicants with skills and industry expertise in one or more of the following areas will be given preference:
  • Information Assurance and Security
  • IT Administration and Infrastructure Management

  • DevOps
  • Legal and Ethical Aspects of IT
  • Project Management
Qualifications QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum three years of current and relevant industry experience.
  • Minimum related Bachelor’s degree, Master’s degree preferred.
  • Demonstrated exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience teaching topics in computing in a post-secondary education environment is preferred.
  • A passion for teaching computing and information technology.
  • Online teaching experience considered an asset.
