• Assisting with strategic business development plans, contributing insights and helping to monitor the client pipeline.

• Leading the coordination and preparation of proposals, providing key input on project resourcing and skill requirements.

• Build and maintain relationships with new and existing clients.

• Ensuring that project resourcing is aligned with strategic goals, facilitating effective cross-region collaboration and resource allocation.

• Overseeing project documentation standards within the team, ensuring consistency and accuracy while respecting regional differences.

• Leading ISL internal cost estimation efforts, and taking responsibility for managing scope changes in projects.

• Leading projects, ensuring quality delivery within budget and timeline constraints, and providing support on larger projects as needed.

• Ensuring project contracts and risk management are completed and signed off.

• Completing peer reviews to ensure quality deliverables.

• Providing day-to-day leadership and technical support to our people, ensuring they are motivated and aligned with organizational goals.

• Actively mentoring our people by providing guidance and fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.

• Conduct regular check-ins with team members to monitor performance, provide feedback, and support their professional development.

• Assisting in the recruitment and onboarding of new ISLers, ensuring they are integrated smoothly into the team.

• Fostering a positive work environment that emphasizes work-life balance, team cohesion, and ongoing improvement.

• Supporting the broader Buildings Team with continuous improvement and contribute to standards and quality initiatives.

What you must have:

• Bachelor’s Degree and any post graduate education in Civil or Structural Engineering.

• Registered as a professional engineer (P.Eng.) with a Canadian engineering regulatory body or another applicable organization with reciprocity agreements.

• Minimum of 10 + plus years consulting engineering experience in Mass Timber, Concrete, Steel, Masonry and Wood design in Institutional, Residential, Industrial and/or Commercial construction projects.

• Knowledge of architectural, mechanical, electrical and building science systems, Canadian building codes, standards and construction techniques.

• Experience with coordination of other building design disciplines including Geotechnical, Architectural, Building Science, Mechanical and Electrical teams.

• Strong ability to guide and mentor a team upwards of 5-7 junior and intermediate team members empowering them with decision making, independence and critical thinking.

• Assets:

• Experience and/or exposure to structural design of water/wastewater and other civil infrastructure projects.

Salary/Rate Range: $135,000.00 - $145,000.00
