Job Summary

Our client is seeking an experienced Geotechnical Engineer to support geotechnical investigations, analysis, design, and engineering projects across civil infrastructure and construction developments. The successful candidate will assess soil and subsurface conditions and provide practical engineering recommendations for foundations, earthworks, slopes, retaining structures, and other geotechnical applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and oversee geotechnical investigations, site assessments, and subsurface exploration.
• Analyze soil and rock properties, groundwater conditions, and site constraints.
• Perform geotechnical calculations and engineering analyses for foundations, slopes, excavations, and retaining systems.
• Prepare geotechnical reports, technical specifications, drawings, and recommendations.
• Provide engineering input for foundations, earthworks, pavement systems, and settlement analysis.
• Review laboratory and field testing results and interpret geotechnical data.
• Coordinate with civil, structural, environmental, and construction teams.
• Support project planning, cost estimates, technical proposals, and construction activities.
• Conduct site visits and provide technical support during construction.
• Ensure work complies with applicable Canadian standards, codes, health and safety requirements, and project specifications.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 3+ years of relevant geotechnical engineering experience.
• Strong knowledge of soil mechanics, foundation engineering, slope stability, and earthworks.
• Experience with geotechnical investigation and testing methods.
• Ability to interpret geotechnical and laboratory data.
• Proficiency with relevant engineering software such as GeoStudio, PLAXIS, gINT/OpenGround, AutoCAD, or similar tools.
• Strong technical report-writing and communication skills.
• Knowledge of Canadian engineering standards and practices is an asset.
• P.Eng. designation or eligibility for professional registration in Canada is an asset.
• Valid authorization to work in Canada.
