In close partnership with the Senior Turnaround Coordinator, this role ensures activities are aligned, well-prepared, and executed in accordance with the turnaround charter, milestone plans, and organizational standards.

Acting as a central point of coordination across planning, operations, engineering, and contractor teams, the Specialist drives scope readiness, risk mitigation, and continuous improvement. This role also serves as the primary liaison for major initiatives led by the Turnaround & Major Maintenance teams, ensuring clear communication, alignment, and successful delivery.

This role requires travel to all four Oil Sands sites to support planning and execution activities, as required.

What you’ll do:

  • Support early planning with Operations and FMT, including permitting, contracting, and industrial cleaning strategies and procedures.

  • Lead the 18-Month Plan-to-Plan process, ensuring activities are assigned, tracked, and aligned to milestones.

  • Facilitate Steering and Core Team governance, driving alignment, communication, and timely decision-making.

  • Ensure turnaround scope aligns with the Charter, is complete, risk-assessed, and meets criteria for inclusion.

  • Drive execution readiness through risk identification, mitigation planning, and readiness audits.

  • Ensure adherence to milestone plans, baseline schedule, and Turnaround Control Estimate (TCE), including approvals and communication.

  • Integrate cross-functional teams into a single, consolidated turnaround plan and communicate readiness and status to stakeholders.

  • Support execution and oversee performance tracking and reporting (safety, schedule, cost), including post-turnaround reviews and lessons learned.

Who you are:

Our ideal candidate will have the following minimum requirements:

  • Legally authorized to work in Canada

  • Minimum of 12 years of leadership experience Turnaround and Maintenance planning, scheduling, and execution.

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.

  • Proven experience with maintenance standard processes and leading optimization and alignment initiatives.

  • Strong knowledge of maintenance, reliability, and project management principles.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

  • Ability to travel to multiple sites as required.

We acknowledge the value of transferable skills and may consider equivalent combinations of experience and education should you not meet a specific requirement.

Note: The application deadline for this position is 11:59 PM MT May 1, 2026
