Job description
Adecco is currently hiring a full-time experienced Operations Procurement Specialist to support plant operations and maintenance activities for a leading organization. Reporting to the Controller, this role plays a critical part in ensuring the timely, cost-effective, and compliant procurement of maintenance, repair, operating (MRO), and direct materials.
Acting as a key procurement partner, you will collaborate closely with Maintenance, Operations, and Finance teams to maintain operational continuity, optimize inventory, and drive effective supplier management across multiple facilities.
  • Pay Rate: up to $85,000/annually
  • Location: Edmonton, ON (on-site)
  • Shift: Monday to Friday
  • Job type: Permanent | Full-time
Responsibilities:
Procurement & Inventory Management
  • Procure MRO and direct materials in alignment with cost, service, and compliance standards
  • Manage purchase orders, inventory levels, and daily MRP activities within SAP
  • Source and manage suppliers for plant-specific materials such as lubricants, specialty fluids, and pallets
Supplier & Contract Management
  • Evaluate vendor quotes and manage supplier performance across cost, quality, and delivery metrics
  • Ensure compliance with national agreements and preferred supplier programs
  • Resolve issues related to purchasing, receiving, and invoicing in collaboration with internal teams and vendors
Maintenance & Operations Support
  • Partner with Maintenance teams to establish and maintain spare parts inventory levels
  • Conduct critical spare parts assessments and coordinate sourcing across sites
  • Support plant operations by ensuring material availability and minimizing downtime
Systems, Controls & Financial Coordination
  • Maintain accurate procurement and vendor data in SAP and COUPA systems
  • Support financial processes and help resolve accounts payable discrepancies
  • Ensure adherence to procure-to-pay processes and SOX compliance requirements
Qualifications and Skills:
  • · Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field
  • · Experience in manufacturing plant sourcing and procurement
  • · Hands-on experience with SAP procurement systems
  • · Advanced Excel skills, including Pivot Tables
  • · Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • · SCMP (Supply Chain Management Professional) certification or equivalent
  • · Experience with COUPA or similar procurement platforms
  • · Strong understanding of inventory optimization and plant operations support
  • · Detail-oriented with strong data accuracy and system management skills
  • · Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • · Strong communication and stakeholder collaboration skills
  • · Results-driven with a focus on cost optimization and operational efficiency
  • · Commitment to compliance, process integrity, and continuous improvement
  • · Mu st be legally eligible to work, and reside in Canada
