Join AECOM Buildings + Places as an Intermediate Landscape Architect in Markham, with flexible hybrid work options. Contribute to the design of transit facilities, plazas, civic campuses, municipal infrastructure, parks and conservation landscapes that foster resilient, vibrant, and sustainable communities. This is a new role for the team.

Career momentum – Access AECOM’s global platform to grow your expertise and explore available career pathways.

Sustainable innovation – Pursue ecological design, climate-responsive solutions, and resilient landscapes embedded into infrastructure projects.

What You’ll Do

o Lead and support projects from concept through construction— site analysis, schematic & detailed design, permitting, construction documentation, and contract administration.

o Produce high-quality design deliverables—graphics, reports, drawings, and presentation materials.

o Engage with clients, stakeholders and communities through meetings, workshops, and public consultation.

o Apply best practices in landscape design and technical detailing, sustainability and ecological restoration.

o Collaborate with peers and senior staff, mentor junior designers and contribute to the overall success of the practice.

Qualifications

What We’re Looking For

o Degree in Landscape Architecture (BLA or MLA).

o Licensed with the Ontario Association of Landscape Architects (Full Member with stamp and seal)

o 4+ years of professional practice in landscape architecture or urban design.

o Experienced in contributing to full project lifecycles, including construction administration.

o Demonstrated experience producing full drawing sets for tender and construction.

o Proficiency in AutoCAD and Adobe Creative Suite; experience with MicroStation, SketchUp, Revit, Civil 3D, Lumion, or similar 3D/BIM tools is an asset.

Professional Skills

o Strong design sense complemented by clear visual communication and presentation abilities.

o Clear written and verbal communicator with clients, colleagues, and the public.

o Highly organized, able to manage multiple projects and timelines simultaneously.

o Motivated by design excellence, collaboration, and sustainability.

Perks & Benefits

o Hybrid work options in recently renovated office spaces.

o Competitive compensation package with comprehensive health and dental benefits.

o Paid vacation, sick leave, and flexible work arrangements.

Professional development, mentorship, and cross-Canada project exposure.
