Job description
Our client, is seeking an experienced, highly technical SAP BTP Developer to join their core digital solutions and SAP architecture group.

In this high-impact consulting role, you will be responsible for leading the design, development, and governance of custom cloud-native applications on SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) Cloud Foundry. Utilizing the Cloud Application Programming (CAP) model, SAPUI5/Fiori, and Node.js, you will build and maintain custom dealer- and business-facing applications integrated with backend S/4HANA systems across core business modules (VMS, SD, MM, Warranty & Claims). Acting as both a full-stack technical specialist and a trusted advisor to functional teams, you will review deliverables from partner vendor teams, author comprehensive technical specifications, build secure OData/REST APIs, and lead complex incident troubleshooting to guarantee production stability.

Duration: 6-Month Contract (September 2026 – March 2027, with potential for extension)

Work Arrangement: Hybrid (2–3 days per week on-site at the corporate office, with occasional additional days for strategic planning sessions)

Advantages
High-Impact Architecture Scope: Direct end-to-end frontend and full-stack development for critical custom applications on SAP BTP Cloud Foundry.

Modern SAP Cloud Sandbox: Work extensively with SAP CAP, SAPUI5, BAS, SAP Cloud Connector, and modern CI/CD deployment pipelines.

Cross-Functional Advisory Role: Act as a key technical authority bridging business stakeholders, functional SAP analysts, architects, and offshore AMS partners.

Predictable Hybrid Cadence: Enjoy a balanced hybrid work schedule combining remote autonomy with collaborative on-site days.

Responsibilities
Custom SAP BTP Development & API Integration
Custom Application Engineering: Design, build, and maintain custom BTP Cloud Foundry applications utilizing the Cloud Application Programming Model (CAP), SAPUI5/Fiori, and Node.js within SAP Business Application Studio (BAS).

API & System Integration: Build, consume, and manage secure, high-performance OData services and RESTful APIs connecting backend S/4HANA systems with BTP cloud applications.

Technical Governance & Code Reviews: Author Technical Specifications (TS) and Unit Test Plans (UTP). Review code, architectural designs, and test results from AMS partners to enforce technical standards and quality gates.

Incident Management & Cross-Functional Collaboration
Production Support & Triaging: Lead complex incident analysis, frontend debugging, and root-cause troubleshooting for custom SAPUI5 applications across core business modules.

Stakeholder Advisory: Partner closely with functional consultants (SD, MM, VMS, Warranty/Claims, Finance) and business leads to translate complex operational needs into technical solution designs.

CI/CD & Governance: Utilize Git, VS Code, and Azure DevOps for version control and automated CI/CD pipeline deployments.

Qualifications
Professional Experience: 8+ years of professional application design and development experience, including solid hands-on expertise modeling and deploying SAP BTP cloud applications.

CAP Model & Node.js Depth: Proven experience developing production-grade applications using the SAP Cloud Application Programming Model (CAP), SAPUI5/OpenUI5, and Node.js.

BTP Cloud Foundry Tooling: Demonstrated experience building custom Cloud Foundry apps in SAP Business Application Studio (BAS) with a strong understanding of app roles, scopes, and BTP security models.

Frontend & Debugging Mastery: Expert knowledge of SAPUI5/Fiori architectural patterns and custom UI development, paired with advanced SAP frontend debugging skills.

API & CI/CD Tooling: Experience with OData/RESTful API integrations, microservices architecture, Git, and Azure DevOps for CI/CD deployments.

Education: University degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline.

Soft Skills: Outstanding communication and facilitation skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Assets & Nice-to-Haves
Functional familiarity supporting SAP modules such as Vehicle Management System (VMS), Warranty & Claims, Sales & Distribution (SD), Material Management (MM), or Finance/Procure-to-Pay.

Knowledge of SAP BTP Identity Authentication Service (IAS), Identity Provisioning Service (IPS), SAP Cloud Connector, or BTP Integration Suite / API Management.

Hands-on experience with SAP HANA Cloud or AI-assisted code development tools.

Domain familiarity with automotive supply chain, vehicle tracking, or warranty processing.

Summary
If you are a tech-savvy SAP BTP Developer who pairs 8+ years of application engineering experience with an absolute command of SAP CAP, SAPUI5/Fiori, Node.js, and S/4HANA integrations, this 6-month hybrid contract is an outstanding opportunity. Bring your cloud development precision, API expertise, and collaborative governance mindset to our client's SAP engineering group today!
